The light gleams an instant, then it's night once more (Sky for Sisyphus)
2011 — present

Watercolour on paper
Dimensions variable

A perpetually incomplete exercise in painting the sky, Sky for Sisyphus is an unending series of paintings that record observed colours of the sky in pools of watercolour. The round markings relate not just to the perceiving eye, and the water droplets that constitute the sky, but as well to the circularity of the exercise — of time itself as governed by celestial objects, and of the meditative practice that turns in on itself over and over, again and again.
