En plein air (breathing over the valley)
Watercolour on paper
These paintings catalogue the rise and fall of green hues in the valley at various sunrises and sunsets. Both a record of my own primary mode of measure and a rebellion against this monotony, each line on the page represents a new breath; each brush stroke a moment longer in holding that breath. Fatigue sets in, perspective wavers, the landscape blurs and shimmers, one stroke bleeds into the next.
