_____

A fifteen hour clock in a
clearing in the old Toiano,
where we ask the hills
how they were made, and the
trees what they have witnessed.
The sun's circle rises from the east
and fingers its way through
the shadows to a small offering
of one, two more circles —
and one finds that indeed all
one sees are projections of
one kind, or another, or
another.
